mod_security has 2 main features:
  • extra logging
  • acting like a spamassassin for the web, with a dedicated rules engine

It might be useful for big sites with frequent attacks, but is guess the fail2ban check is enough for us. The engine is probably gonna need a lot of resources, but we don't have much free.

So, i'm rejecting this idea.
