Description

We should consider activating the following features, if useful:
  • STUN (beware it seems to be an incomplete implementation)
  • mod_sic - Server IP Check (XEP-0279) - enables a client to discover its external IP address
  • mod_vcard_xupdate - vCard-Based Avatars protocol (XEP-0153) - provides a method for clients to inform the contacts what is the avatar hash value
  • mod_proxy65 - SOCKS5 Bytestreams (XEP-0065) - act as a file transfer proxy between two XMPP clients

Public STUN servers, with full implementations, can be found everywhere, so there so such need for us.

XEP-0065 has drawbacks, and several other extensions exists, still with drawbacks. XEP-0234 seems to be a better future on the paper, but still has to prove itself useful. As no user asked for such a feature, i guess we can wait for a better protocol to emerge.
