Horde cannot be removed until encryption is available in Roundcube (and thus #337 cannot be closed).

Version 1.2.0 has support for server-side and even client-side encryption. It is available in Stretch.

So the feature is here, but I cannot test it fully due to this bug: https://github.com/mailvelope/mailvelope/issues/496

I was able to import the key on another computer, so I'll check with the former one later.

I was able to encrypt and decrypt, including older mails, but I could not sign or validate signatures. Signing seem to be possible but maybe we need Roundcube 1.3.0 for this. Validating is not for today: https://github.com/roundcube/roundcubemail/issues/5504

Mailvelope >= 2.0 has more features (current is 2.2.0) and support for it is in RoundCube master, so probably for 1.4.

Mailveloppe >= 3.0 brings more feature, including native GPPG support which would be even more secure. Unfortunately the debian gpgme package is not ready yet but the maintainer plans to work on it.

Roundcube also added option to encrypt and sign in 1.4-rc1.

I used the 1.4-rc1 package in Debian experimental and updated it to build a 1.4-rc2 just out recently. php-masterminds-html5 needed to be backported too. It is now working fine in production.

Thus I tested Mailvelope again and I was able to decrypt but the button giving access to encryption and signature does not show up. I checked the logs both in browser and server in vain. I tested both on FF and Chromium.

Signing is now working. I think it was since 1.4.2 that I started seeing the option. Anyway in 1.4.3 it is ok.
